Fall is one of my favorite times of year – I mean, what’s not to love? It’s a time filled with cute boots, funky scarves, pumpkin spice lattes, and snuggly blankets. It is a time for changing out those summer-time clothes and putting together fully coordinated outfits in rich, warm-toned colors.
Unfortunately, it is also a time where even the most accomplished of women can forget about their goals and go into early hibernation.
News flash – you are not a bear.
(Hopefully you already knew that and consider it to be a good thing.)
So, why are you trying to do your best polar bear impression in your life and business?
Think of how much further ahead you would be next year if you didn’t start hibernating now.
What goal haven’t you completed yet?
What project have you been wanting to start but making excuses about?
What is stopping you?
Step away from the covers, put on your best fall outfit (complete with hat, scarf, and adorable boots) and start to make things happen.
Here are my top tips to be successful and push through at this time of year:
- Before the day is over, decide on one small goal you will tackle tomorrow.
- Accomplish it.
- Don’t be afraid to dream big (even big dreams can be tackled one small goal at a time).
And…don’t forget to reward yourself occasionally.
I’m not talking about anything huge.
It could just be a time to go crunch leaves under your feet. Or have an impromptu dance party. Or, maybe, warm up with that PSL you’ve been craving.
Until then… stay passionate!
Turns out I was support to read this several days after you posted. The desire to retreat under the covers and into the darkness of myself was very strong this morning. It is the act of hiding from the world and from myself. This is because I have been asking myself the wrong question in the wrong way. The real questions are, “How do I want to feel?”, “What do I really want?”, “How do I want to get there?” The journey begins.
