I didn’t want to write a blog post this week.
What I really wanted to write was a declaration…
I’ve always spoken from my mind and my heart. It’s a big reason why my clients get such big results when they work with me, but this week I almost held my tongue.
See, this particular issue has been bothering me for a while now and I’ve finally had enough of it.
In fact, my team and I are working on a NEW big project for you that has been directly inspired by this issue. But I digress…
So, what is this issue?
The issue making me want to write declarations?
And has me and my team in an uproar?
I’m Tired of People Giving Coaching A Bad Name
Specifically, other coaches giving coaching a bad name.
Let me explain…
When I was 23, I was in a bad place in my life. I needed direction, guidance, and serious help to become the brighter, bigger version of myself that I am today. (I think we can all relate to that.) So…
I hired a coach.
It changed my life. And by “changed my life” I mean it was one of the most life changing experiences I’ve ever had (right up there with getting married and having children).
It was so life altering, I decided to become a coach.
But now…
There seems to be a hot new coach popping up every couple of minutes, pushing their business all over Facebook. But, that’s not the worst part…
The worst part is that behind the pretty Facebook pages and flashy webinar titles, lies a big group of coaches who don’t have your best interest at heart, who don’t have real coaching experience, and is just taking what another coach said and marketing it as their own.
And it’s not all of the coaches doing this, but it’s certainly a large majority.
It’s not that these coaches are lying to you.
It’s that they’re not telling you the truth.
Which brings me to this blog post’s point…
Know who you’re getting your advice from.
Do your research.
And for goodness sake, listen to your gut. It will always tell you the truth.
Until then… stay passionate!
As usual…right on.
